![]() Born and raised in downtown Toronto, Robin traveled the world as a youth. Thailand, Greece, Great Britain, Singapore, France, and Japan by the time he was fifteen. He began writing for the stage at a young age; he wrote and directed his first film, a stage adaptation of one of his short plays, when he was twelve. Studying Drama at Etobicoke School of the Arts, at sixteen he wrote and co-directed a 45-minute comedy called Coming Attractions. A critical success, it was accepted into the University of Toronto Film Festival, despite being a High School production. His next project was a documentary about Toronto's oldest surviving movie palace. Co-directed with Peter Kuplowsky, The Bloor premiered at the cinemas' 100th year anniversary celebration. Nineteen at the time, Robin conducted interviews with Canada Now, the CBC Radio program Here & Now and The National Post about the future of cinema in Toronto. In 2006 Robin wrote and directed two original plays. High Art, a sex farce, opened in June at the Rivoli. LICK HER, a dark comedy, opened in December at The Centre for the Arts. They both performed well; LICK HER's original run was extended. In the summer of 2007 you will be able to see three of Robin's films at the Bloor Cinema. The Popcorn Trilogy is playing before regular 9:00-9:30 screenings from July 9th to September 9th.
